Unified Communication Services : Integrating All Business Communications
Unified Communication Services (UC) refers to a phone system that integrates multiple communication methods within a business. Your business probably communicates in several ways: phone calls, videoconferencing, instant messaging, email, SMS, fax–the list goes on and on. Technology is now in the driver’s seat of the business world and the landscape is constantly changing the needs of businesses. With practically endless tools and applications for communication, it can get complicated and expensive to collect all you need to meet the various communication needs of your clients and employees. A UC solution brings together all the ways your business communicates and lets them talk to each other so they can work together in one unified communication services phone system–making your business much more efficient.
Benefits of Unified Communication Services
UC offers a competitive advantage to businesses by reducing the number of independent tools, platforms, and solutions they need to communicate. Because Unified Communications integrates and optimizes all the interactions within an organization, team collaboration and productivity are significantly improved, along with the engagement of sales prospects, vendors, and customers. Many businesses are choosing unified communications phone systems over traditional phone systems because it’s a better way to future-proof their investment and keep pace with advances in technology. Here are a few of the main benefits Unified Communications has to offer businesses:
Unified Communication Services anyone can use.
Unified Communications solutions leverage the power of VoIP telephony to bring multimedia communications, enterprise applications, and personal information into one seamless, integrated environment. With minimal training, end users master the built-in communication tools; At the touch of a button, a simple phone call becomes a multimedia collaboration session.
Unified communications that go easy on IT resources.
An ingenious purpose-built IP architecture makes our on-premise business VoIP phone system look and behave like a single, unified platform. It distributes the system’s intelligence across the communications environment so the system scales and grows as needed, across sites, or even countries. With our intuitive browser-based administrative interface, IT staff can maintain the system from anywhere on the network. It all comes together with plug-and-play ease and IT staff can maintain the system from anywhere on the network.
availability peace of mind.
The business VoIP phone system’s distributed architecture and applications, aavailability for mission–critical business continuity. The switch–based hardware platform helps ensure that in the event of a WAN failure, the phone system continues to place and receive calls on the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
Reduce costs
Unified communications solutions reduce costs at the company level by reducing the number of IT staff needed to manage the system, and by freeing them to focus on strategic business building projects.
Enhanced collaboration with intuitive communication tools.
Unifiedway unified communications features help entire teams to work together more effectively by enabling end users to access easy-to-use communication tools in a simple, intuitive interface. For instance, an exchange that begins via instant message can be turned, in the single click of a button, into a phone call. One more click can turn it into a video call, or activate desktop sharing. These features also integrate readily with third-party information and applications via a rich set of application programming interfaces (APIs). These interfaces enable users to manage communications based on customer information, or automate routine look-ups at the desktop.

Unified communications that match how Saudi teams actually work
Email, voice, video, chat, file share, contact centre, and meeting rooms have stopped being separate products. Modern Saudi organisations expect one identity, one directory, one click-to-call, and one place where the conversation lives — whether the user is on a desk phone in Riyadh, a Teams Rooms display in a Jeddah boardroom, a softphone on the road to Dammam, or a mobile in transit to Makkah. Unified communications (UC) is the discipline of turning that expectation into a stable, secure, manageable reality.
Unifiedway designs and delivers UC programmes for KSA enterprises and mid-market organisations. We’re vendor-credentialed across the platforms that matter in this region — Mitel, Microsoft Teams, Cisco, Yealink, Poly, and Avaya — which means our recommendations are driven by your business, your existing investments, and your regulatory reality, not by whichever vendor we happen to resell.
Why unified communications matters in Saudi Arabia
Hybrid work landed in KSA later than in some markets but it landed hard. Saudi enterprises moved through the 2020-2022 disruption and emerged with permanently distributed teams, regional offices that need to feel like one organisation, and field workforces that can no longer rely on “come into the office for the meeting” as the default. Vision 2030 expansion is creating organisations that operate across multiple regions on day one — sometimes across multiple countries — which makes UC infrastructure a foundational layer rather than a productivity nice-to-have.
Local regulatory and operational realities shape the UC design. CST licensing rules constrain who can provide voice services and where calls can terminate. Data residency expectations from regulated industries (banking under SAMA, government under NCA cloud guidance) push some workloads to Saudi-region cloud or to on-prem. International call quality through KSA peering still varies by carrier — a UC design that ignores this delivers great chat and lousy phone calls. Our designs explicitly account for these factors.
What’s included in our unified communications service
UC strategy and platform selection
Discovery of current state — PBX, email, video platform, contact centre, and mobile estate — followed by a recommendation against three to four candidate target architectures. Output is a written platform decision with TCO comparison.
Microsoft Teams as the UC platform
Teams Phone deployment with calling plans or direct routing, Teams Rooms for meeting spaces, Teams as the chat and meetings backbone, and Teams Voice integration to existing carriers. We deliver E5 / Teams Phone licensing planning, number porting from STC/Mobily/Salam, and migration from legacy PBX.
Mitel UC deployments
MiVoice Business, MiVoice MX-ONE, MiContact Center, and the Mitel cloud portfolio. We carry Mitel partner status and have experience with multi-site Mitel estates across KSA.
Cisco UC deployments
Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Webex Calling, Webex Contact Centre, and Cisco Room devices. Migration paths from on-prem CUCM to Webex Cloud where appropriate.
Yealink, Poly, and meeting room hardware
Endpoint selection, room design (huddle, medium, large, boardroom, training), and integration with the chosen UC platform. Mounting, cabling, AV, and remote management.
SIP trunking and carrier integration
Connectivity to STC, Mobily, Salam, and selected international carriers. SBC sizing, codec selection, and survivability design.
Contact centre as part of UC
Integrated contact-centre deployments — Mitel MiContact Center, Webex Contact Center, or Microsoft Dynamics + Teams. IVR design, queue strategy, recording, quality management, and reporting.
How we deliver UC programmes
- Discovery — Audit the existing telephony, video, and collaboration estate. Understand call patterns, mobility needs, regulatory constraints, and the user-experience baseline.
- Design — Produce a target architecture with platform decisions, network and bandwidth implications, security model, and number-handling plan.
- Pilot — Deploy to a representative pilot group (typically 50–150 users) covering knowledge workers, field workers, and contact-centre agents.
- Rollout — Phased migration by site, by department, or by user persona depending on what minimises business risk. We handle desk-phone refresh, headset rollout, and Teams Rooms physical installation.
- Adoption and training — End-user training, super-user enablement, and adoption tracking. UC programmes fail at adoption far more often than at technology.
- Operate — Ongoing managed UC support, change management, capacity reporting, and quarterly reviews.
Sectors we serve
We deliver UC for Saudi banking and financial services, government, healthcare, education, hospitality, oil and gas, manufacturing, retail, and professional services. Each sector brings its own constraints — call recording obligations in finance, OPD/IPD workflow in healthcare, multi-language and pilgrim-volume scaling in religious-tourism hospitality — and our designs reflect these.
Why Unifiedway for UC
We are platform-agnostic — Mitel, Microsoft, Cisco, Avaya, Yealink, Poly — which means you get advice rather than a sales pitch. We have run multi-site UC programmes across the Kingdom, including parallel-run cutovers where the legacy PBX and the new platform operate concurrently for risk-managed migration. Our adoption methodology is based on real change-management practice, not “send a PDF and hope they read it.”
FAQ
Should we move to Microsoft Teams Phone or stay with on-prem PBX?
It depends. If you’re a regulated bank with strict recording and residency requirements, on-prem or hybrid is often still right. If you’re a knowledge-worker organisation with predictable call volumes, Teams Phone with direct routing is usually the strongest answer. We’ll show you the comparison.
Can you integrate Teams with our existing Mitel system?
Yes — direct routing or session-border-controller integration is well-trodden ground for us. You can run both side-by-side during transition.
How do we keep our existing phone numbers?
Number porting from KSA carriers is well-established. We coordinate with STC, Mobily, or Salam to port DDI ranges with minimal downtime.
Do you handle physical room AV or only the platform side?
Both. Our team installs Teams Rooms, Webex Rooms, and Mitel video devices end-to-end — including mounting, cabling, displays, microphones, and acoustic treatment.
How long does a UC migration take?
A 500-user single-site migration is typically 8–16 weeks. Multi-site programmes scale from there based on site count and complexity.
Will call quality be acceptable from a Saudi office to international destinations?
With the right SBC, codec, and carrier choices — yes. We design specifically for KSA-to-international quality, which is not the same problem as KSA-to-KSA quality.
